CCW License - Initial

Class Description

You will learn the requirements necessary to successfully complete the state-mandated CCW examination and obtain the Certificate of Training required by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), or by participating agencies in Los Angeles County, including Gardena, Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles (LAPD not LASD), Montebello, Redondo Beach, and Whittier. Please note: Completion of this course and successful passage of the examination does not guarantee permit approval by OCSD, any Los Angeles County issuing agency, or the California Department of Justice (CA DOJ). We serve all of Orange County and select cities within Los Angeles County. Because coverage varies by jurisdiction, please contact us in advance to confirm that your issuing agency is supported. In accordance with California law, this course requires a minimum of sixteen (16) hours of instruction. A textbook is included. We strongly recommend that all CCW applicants obtain self-defense liability insurance upon completion of the course. Students must be able to field strip their firearm as part of the training. Holsters are not required and may not be used during the qualification portion of the course. However, if you already own a holster, you are welcome to bring it. Instructors can provide guidance on safe handling and efficient use where appropriate. Ammunition requirements vary by issuing agency and will be provided prior to qualification. Vouchers are not accepted for this course.
