CCW License - Initial

Class Description

You will learn what is required to pass the state-mandated CCW examination and receive the Certificate of Training required by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) and select issuing agencies within Los Angeles County as part of your permit application. Completion of this course and successful passage of the examination does not guarantee approval by OCSD, any Los Angeles County issuing agency, or the California Department of Justice (CA DOJ). We serve all of Orange County and applicants from various cities within Los Angeles County. Coverage varies by city, so please contact us in advance to verify that your issuing agency is supported. By law, this course requires a minimum of sixteen (16) total hours to complete. A textbook is included. It is highly recommended that all CCW candidates obtain liability insurance upon completion of the course. Students will be required to field-strip their firearm as part of the course. Holsters are not required and may not be used during the qualification portion of the class. However, if you already own a holster, you are welcome to bring it, and we will work with you on improving efficiency and safe use where appropriate. Ammunition requirements vary by issuing agency and will be provided prior to the qualification portion of the course. Vouchers are not accepted for this class.
